Lore
A lava serpent that was something holier once, its scales still molten from whatever happened to it. The fall left it lower than any other line. That is also why it has the farthest to rise, and the Binders say the farthest fallen rise the brightest.
The Apophis Basilisk
Once a holy serpent; something got into it and stayed, and it has run molten ever since. Of all the fallen it has gone furthest down, which is why its way back is the widest. The Binders say the deepest dark remembers light the best.
